Travel

I LOVE to travel! Whether it is taking my yacht down to the Caribbean or up to Maine or traveling through Europe, I love seeing everything this diverse world has to offer. I am so fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to do so much traveling so I would love to share some of my experiences and favorite places with you! This page will be constantly updated and a new destination will be added every season so be sure to check back!

Winter’s Destination Of The Season: Florida

Florida is such a great place not only because it’s always warm there, but because each city has its own feel. You can go to Miami for the club scene, Orlando to free your inner child, Boca to relax in a posh environment---and that’s only a few of the different scenes in Florida! It’s really such a diverse state with something for everyone!

My husband and I dock our yacht down in Florida, so we usually spend a lot of time on there! I keep my paddle board on the yacht and try to paddle board as often as I can. It is such a great workout and is so much fun once you get the hang of it (it's not as easy as it looks!).

I spend a lot of time at my Condo in South Florida so here are some of my favorite things to do when I’m there!

1. IPIC Theater

This is the most amazing movie theater I’ve ever been to! Each seat is a reclining sofa-for-one and not only do they give you a plush blanket to cover yourself, they also offer food delivered right to your seat! And we’re not just talking popcorn, which is free-by the way!, I’m talking full-out delicious catered food from their restaurant and a full bar menu, too! I definitely recommend the chicken skewers and coconut shrimp. After experiencing this movie going experience, you’ll never want to see a movie in a regular theater again!

2. The Boca Raton Beach Club

The Boca Beach Club is a lot of fun, all day long. They have gorgeous pools, delicious food, a great beach and they are always playing great music! If you’re looking for a fun day in the sun where you can relax and socialize, this is the place to go! Before you go, make sure that you’ll be able to get in. On weekends during their high season (November-March) only Beach Club Members and Hotel Guests are able to get in. Luckily, this place is a lot of fun year round and is kid friendly, too!

3. Relax and Unwind at the Waldorf Astoria Spa

This is one of my favorite Spas in the world! I have never left a service there anything less than 100% satisfied and the amenities are amazing. You could easily spend an entire day there relaxing and they even have their own café! There are saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs with waterfalls, a beautiful pool and really great customer service. This Spa was named the #1 Spa in the World in Condé Nast Traveler's Readers’ Choice Awards 2014 and it definitely deserves the award! I recommend their facials and massages, though they give amazing manicures and pedicures as well! You really can’t go wrong with any of their services.

4. DISNEY!

When most people think of Florida, they likely associate it with Disney. Disney is known as the “Happiest Place On Earth” and that’s because it really is. Disney is not just for young children; it’s for children of any age – even the “young at heart.” Disney is wonderful for so many reasons. I love that they decorate for Christmas and even for Halloween, which most people don’t know! And you can bet that when Disney does a holiday, they do it right!

I love going to Epcot and eating at all of the different countries at the World Showcase. Each pavilion at Epcot represents a different country and they sell popular items from each country and have restaurants that feature popular cuisine from each of those countries! It is truly a wonderful experience and you get to learn about cultures from all over the world right in Florida!

I especially love dining at the World Showcase because they are so attentive to any special dietary requests. When my husband and I mentioned that we had some dietary concerns, the waiter left us for a minute and came back with the restaurant chef! The chef was more than happy to cater to all of our needs and was so friendly about it! Don’t be afraid to speak up if you have any special requests or dietary needs at Disney, they are happy to help! Be sure to book your dining reservations at least a month in advance, though. They book up quickly!
