Going back to the place where you grew up always brings a flashflood of emotions. I left Ireland almost ten years ago and while my visits back are few and far between, getting back in touch with my roots and then having to leave always brings such bittersweet emotions.

All of the best planning in the world can’t always prevent life from getting in the way of our plans. I learned that (once again) the hard way this week and there is no doubt in my mind that I, like everyone else, will continue to learn this lesson over and over again. 

If you’re in New York or the East Coast in general then you’ve surely noticed the change in weather telling us that it is officially boot and scarf weather. There is so much that I love about this time of year! The chilly air encouraging us to snuggle up to our loved ones, neighborhood houses covering themselves in fake spider webs and, believe it or not, stores are already beginning to put out their Christmas decorations!
