Futuristic Fashions: The Met Gala 2016

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala is a New York extravaganza that is looked forward to all year long. The Met Gala brings acclaimed celebrities in entertainment and fashion in one room to honor and dote on gorgeous fashions by icons in the industry.

Each year the gala has a theme; this year it was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, which celebrities use as inspiration for their gowns. Many take the theme very seriously and dare to be different since this happens just once a year!

This year the red carpet was filled with risk takers and futuristic fashions that took us onlookers into a new age of technology. Metallics, robot looking designs, super heroic dresses and even dresses that glow in the dark were recurring themes in many fashions on the red carpet. They were bright, flashy and took you into a time machine of what the future could hold. But these futuristic fashions do come with futuristic price tags that aren’t feasible for many, so I am on a mission to find these Met Gala 2016 Looks for Less! Weddings, parties, prom…you name it, you can rock a futuristic fashion to your next event!

Metallics were a bold theme that celebrities such as Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian West, Lady Gaga and Nicole Kidman took a fancy to. They rocked the red carpet in designs that wowed everyone!

Taylor Swift rocked a short silver metallic Louis Vuitton dress with tall strappy boots as well as her new bombshell blonde short hair do.
