Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all! Such an amazingly spirited and fun holiday to bring in the Spring season. Yes, it is a day of celebrations, shamrocks, and step-dancing, but the history behind today is definitely one to be remembered!
The 100-year anniversary of the Easter Rising is approaching, a monumental day in Irish history. The Rising marks the day the Irish Republicans defied British rule to spark the fire in establishing their own Republic. Defying the British to regain power in Dublin was an unthinkable feat, but, as the Irish are known for, they held onto their courage, belief and strength and succeeded in bringing Republicanism to the forefront of Irish politics.
Overcoming such an unthinkable challenge truly resonates with me personally in my Acting career. I am extremely proud of my Irish heritage, and as an artist, the message behind today’s Holiday truly reminds me of the work, courage, and consistency it takes to create your destiny.
You see, you often hear about “The luck of the Irish,” and I will admit I am truly blessed and lucky for all of the joys in my life. I have a beautiful family and loving friends, I have my health, and the opportunity to chase my passions. But, I can confidently say that success is not a product of luck, even if you have that lovely, feisty Irish spirit running through your veins.
Success is a product of work, belief and commitment. It is the perfect combination of talent and desire to make sure that you are constantly improving yourself to be a better version today than you were yesterday. As I begin to prepare for upcoming roles, I am more determined than ever to take my acting career to the next-level. I am so proud to make my mark on Hollywood as an Irish girl, and can’t wait to share with you all that’s in store.
