And The Oscar Goes To...

What an unbelievable ceremony! 2015 was nothing short of amazing in the entertainment industry, as you can see by the star-studded nominee selections across the board for the Oscars Award categories. Where do I even begin!?

Well, you know me! I’m all about fierce looks and fabulous fashion, so I was jaw-dropped at some of the gorgeous selections on The Red Carpet. Cate Blanchett’s haute couture Armani Privé gown was absolutely breathtaking. The shoulders fell so delicately and the dress hugged her waistline flawlessly. It was an amazing choice! Charlize Theron awed the audience with her red, plunging neckline gown and Lady Gaga stole the show, as always, in an elegant pantsuit that was both classy yet edgy.  Not to mention, the usual stud alert from Eddie Redmayne, who looked so dapper from head to toe. I can go on and on.

Renowned Ceremonies like the Oscars strike close to my heart on my journey as an Actress. Participating is such a career-defining moment and seeing fellow artists succeed truly inspires me to let nothing stand in my way of achieving my goals.

As you know, I’m a huge movie-goer, so I was very pleased to see some of my recent favorites nominated in the award categories. Son of Saul was fully deserving of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, as it was so compelling, along with Amy, which won Best Documentary Feature, on the life of Amy Winehouse. And, of course, a personal Irish shout-out to Benjamin Clearly, Irish filmmaker who won the Oscar for Best Short Film, Stutterer. It is so incredible to see what brilliant, creative minds, talented artists, production teams, writers and directors can craft, and I am constantly amazed by Hollywood’s Magic.

Perhaps the most magical moment of the night was the one-and-only Leo winning the Oscar for Best Actor, for his film the Revenant. Leonardo Dicaprio has been a standard of acting excellence in this industry throughout his entire career, and I was so happy and proud that his unwavering talent was finally recognized. He is so inspiring, for he kept challenging himself with more dynamic roles that were out of his comfort zone, which has made him the Actor he is today. I truly applaud and commend him.

I felt such a sense of humble pride from the award recipients, who all showed such grace while accepting. Along with their gratitude, the acceptance speeches were so dimensional and thoughtful and addressed truly important issues in our society today. Moreso than ever, we heard these Stars, such influential role models, take a stand on several cultural and environmental issues on such an important stage and I was truly impressed. For example, following up his moving performance, Sam Smith gave such an emotional acceptance speech in honor of the LGBT Community that gave the audience and viewers chills. As a performer, it is so key to use your spotlight to inspire those around you to bring out the best in this beautiful world, and this year at the Oscars did not cease to amaze!

My heart is so full from the incredible amount of touching and inspirational moments of this year’s ceremony, and I am more inspired than ever to turn my dreams into a reality. Follow me on social media to see what’s next in my career!
