The Seasons Of Our Lives

What a weekend of white! I hope all of my East Coasters are staying safe and warm after the record-breaking blizzard we’ve experienced this weekend. Here in New York, our beloved Central Park got covered in over two feet of snow! Talk about a Winter Wonderland!

There is something so tranquil and peaceful about seeing the world frozen in a blanket of snow; well, until you have to commute in it, LOL! People often find their spirit and mood tied to the weather outside, and I truly find that the changing weather patterns, temperatures and seasons can be so symbolic.

Do you ever feel like you can take on the world on a beautiful, sunny day? Or how on rainy, dark days you feel a little down or dreary? More often than not, people experience these same sensations. Just last week in Florida, we were caught in a massive rainstorm that was toppling the ocean, and I couldn’t help but relate the waves of the roaring sea to the waves of our lives.

In an emotional storm, problem or controversy, the obstacles and hardships may seem back-to-back; constant waves of negative, painful emotion one after another. As unwavering and unshakeable the storm may seem, or as big as the waves you face are, you need to always remember that they are no match to your courage, and that you have the willpower to remain resilient. You are fearless. There will always be waves in our lives, but over time as you stand true to your beliefs and surround yourself in positivity, you’ll notice that the waves seem to shrink. Waves of negativity won’t continue to come back-to-back, and though the waves of life are inevitable, you will be stronger each time you face them and you will feel their impact less frequently.

It’s important to remember that even if you’re caught in a storm, and you don’t feel the sun on your cheeks, that warmth comes from your heart, and that you need to always hold on to your inner natural beauty and light. Every day is a gift, and you are blessed to have each moment with your friends and family, and a little bad weather in your life should never make you forget that. Though our moods can change from day-to-day, you can’t let unpredictability stray you from remaining focused and capturing your goals.  No matter the obstacle, nothing can deter you from your course.

Life’s bad weather is out of our control, but you are always in control of your happiness. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and remember: a little rain never hurt anyone.
